Bank of Jordan and Elia Nuqul Foundation Sign Education Agreement

 

(Amman-February 2017) Bank of Jordan (BoJ) signed a partnership agreement with Elia Nuqul Foundation (ENF) whereby the Bank will grant scholarships to selected ENF students joining banking and administrative sciences programs in public Jordanian universities.

The scholarships will cover the tuition fees and a monthly allowance for students, who should meet certain criteria related to academic achievement and economic status.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Ghassan Nuqul, Chairman of ENF Board of Trustees and Mr. Saleh Hammad, BoJ Acting General Manager.

Mr. Nuqul thanked BoJ for its keenness to paying back the community through giving Jordanian youth the chance to pursue university education. He noted that the Foundation is eager to strengthen its strategic partnerships with the banking sector to maximize benefit for students. Viewing education as a top priority, ENF, a philanthropic entity, focuses on equipping its scholars with the skills to excel and enhance their employment opportunities.

For his Part, Mr. Hammad said that the agreement falls within BoJ’s corporate social responsibility program, adding that the Bank sponsors and supports various initiatives, with a focus on the education sector and the youth in specific. It is worth noting that the Bank is keen to build partnerships and enhance cooperation with national institutions which focuses on sustainable development activities.
