Date: 10/05/2023

(Amman, Jordan – May xx, 2023) — In 2023, during the holy month of Ramadan, the Bank of Jordan implemented a charitable program that included various initiatives and activities to reach the largest segment of needy and less fortunate groups in large parts of the Kingdom. It embodied its commitment to sustainable investment in community empowerment programs, emphasizing its humanitarian role in achieving noble goals and making positive changes in the lives of Jordanian citizens.

On this matter, General Manager of Bank of Jordan, Saleh Hammad, stated, “The month of Ramadan receives a large share of focus within our social corporate responsibility strategy. Our programs strive to enrich each year and are sustainable, with a goal of continuing to play a pivotal role and make influential contributions across various sectors and groups for broad-based, positive impacts in the long run. We cherish our pioneering role in the field of charitable work and take it upon ourselves as a primary initiative to serve society. We intend to move forward with our community initiatives, remaining part of the solution to the challenges.”

The Bank of Jordan's Ramadan program included participating in the service of the guests of Mawae'd Al Rahman, held by Tkiyet Um Ali at its headquarters during the holy month. Through the bank's volunteer employees, they were able to prepare and serve meals to around 4,000 individuals, as well as distribute food parcels to families in need who benefit from the organization. Through this initiative, it expressed its eagerness to continue supporting its various programs aimed at achieving food security and to build on the results of its long-term partnership with the organization to fight hunger.

As it does every year, the bank continued to support its Ramadan iftar event, hosting a group of orphans at the Children's Museum, one of the institutions of Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah’s non-profit educational organization. The bank also supported the Haya Cultural Center’s Draw a Smile initiative, which hosted 100 children from various charities during a Ramadan iftar. During the event, the bank was eager to create a friendly atmosphere with two recreational banquet activities and volunteers from the bank interacting with its young guests, enabling them to have a good time. They also contributed to bringing joy into their hearts by distributing souvenirs to each of them.

Additionally, the bank enhanced its role as a link between civil society organizations and initiatives that support them, it aimed to achieve its messages and solidarity goals by ensuring the sustainability of its services and providing them to the less fortunate members of society. The bank has also supported the Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization's purchasing voucher distribution project to provide food aid to those in need while preserving their dignity, through food shopping coupons that cover their basic needs.

In the same context, the bank provided its support for the Ramadan evening held by the Humanitarian Club, whose proceeds supported the beneficiaries of its services, such as young university students whom the bank considers to be builders of the future. Furthermore, it initiated a set of community activities and programs implemented by the Ahali Kofor Aanah Organization for voluntary participation in several other Ramadan initiatives.

It is worth noting that the Bank of Jordan integrates its societal programs within its work priorities and in line with the national development priorities, as it seeks to deepen its presence in the society it serves, being a national and responsible institution.
