(Amman, Jordan – October XX, 2024): In line with its commitment to social responsibility, Bank of Jordan has signed a partnership agreement with the Arab Orphan Committee (AOC) to establish an educational fund under the bank’s name. This initiative is part of the committee’s “Bunyan” educational funds program.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Saleh Hammad, General Manager of Bank of Jordan, and Eng. Khaled Kanaan, Chairman of the Arab Orphan Committee, in the presence of representatives from both organizations.
At the core of this partnership, the fund will support orphaned and less privileged students in Jordan and Palestine by helping them complete their academic and vocational education. The Bank of Jordan fund will offer non-refundable scholarships over two consecutive years (2024 and 2025), boosting beneficiaries’ prospects for employment and providing a sustainable income, ensuring a better quality of life for them and their families. The scholarships will support a range of educational programs, including university education, technical and vocational diploma programs, vocational and technical fellowship initiatives, and post-education training programs designed to prepare students for employment.
This initiative is part of Bank of Jordan's broader efforts to support local communities it serves by promoting equal educational opportunities for orphans and less privileged students. By enhancing access to education, the bank aims to equip youth with the skills and knowledge needed to enter the workforce and actively participate in society. The bank firmly believes that education is a powerful tool for empowering future generations and creating lasting positive impact.
It is worth noting that this new fund builds on Bank of Jordan's ongoing efforts to implement and support sustainable development initiatives within the framework of its corporate social responsibility strategy. The bank’s initiatives touch upon various sectors and pressing social issues, with a particular focus on supporting marginalized communities and promoting educational inclusion.
