Bank of Jordan Supports the “Green Caravan” Program for the 7th Consecutive Year

(Amman - November 2020) As part of Bank of Jordan's continuous endeavors to support sustainable development activities, the bank continued to support the "Green Caravan" program by the Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) for the seventh consecutive year.

 

To put this support into action, a small group of the bank’s employees joined the efforts in planting 360 fruit trees in Madaba, taking into consideration the necessary safety measures and social distancing practices. The “Green Caravan” program intends to increase the green cover, reduce desertification, and promote food security by planting fruit trees to empower farmers and provide them with an additional source of income, therefore reducing poverty and unemployment rates, especially in less fortunate areas.

 

By supporting the "Green Caravan" program, Bank of Jordan seeks to improve the productivity of the agricultural sector, which is a major economic tributary with numerous benefits that strengthening Jordan's food basket, as well as promoting love for the land and the country among the bank's employees and involving them in voluntary and social work.
