The Basic Bank Account is a Jordanian Dinar (JOD) account designed for resident Jordanian customers, offered with special terms and features. It targets individuals who are legally eligible to deal with banks and do not own any type of bank accounts with any banks operating in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and who wish to access banking services within limits and costs that suit their income and personal circumstances.
The account balance must not exceed JOD 700.
Cash withdrawals and deposits.
Cheque deposits into the account.
Incoming and outgoing bank transfers.
ATM card.
Electronic banking services.
Credit facilities.
Cheque book issuance.
Credit card issuance.
Granting interest or prizes on the account.
If the customer provides the bank with incorrect or misleading information.
If the customer has another bank account, whether before or after opening the Basic Account.
If the customer fails to comply with the terms and conditions of the account.
If no withdrawal or deposit transactions are conducted on the account, the account balance is zero, and the account holder cannot be reached for a period exceeding six months
A valid proof of identity (Civil Status ID / Appointment Certificate if the customer is military personnel).
No minimum balance is required.
The customer must provide a written undertaking to notify the Bank if they open any other bank account besides the Basic Bank Account.
If transfers are received consecutively for a period exceeding six months, resulting in exceeding the approved balance cap, the Bank may convert the Basic Bank Account into a regular account.
If it is found that the customer has other bank accounts or banking relationships, the Bank has the right to claim all fees and commissions previously waived, provided that the customer is informed accordingly.
The applicant must not hold any account with the Bank and must sign a declaration confirming that they do not have any bank accounts or banking relationships with other banks in the Kingdom.
The account will be frozen after one year from the date of the last withdrawal or deposit transaction. The dormant account fee is JOD 2 per month, up to a maximum of JOD 6 per month on all dormant accounts.
Important Note:
This account can only be opened at the branch, and its terms and features do not apply to electronic accounts opened through the Arabi Mobile application.
