Bank of Jordan has signed a statement of support for the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), an initiative established by UN Women and the UN Global Compact. The principles provide a framework for companies and institutions to advance gender equality and support women’s empowerment in the workplace and wider society.
Joining the initiative builds on the bank’s efforts to foster a workplace grounded in diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity. This includes supporting women’s participation and career development at all levels, including leadership positions, while providing opportunities for professional development and capacity building and strengthening practices that promote an inclusive and supportive work environment.
The bank firmly believes that a fair and inclusive workplace that draws on diverse skills and perspectives can help foster innovation and creativity, strengthen performance, and support long-term business sustainability.
In line with this approach, the bank continues to develop its workplace and corporate practices to ensure that all employees have equal opportunities for professional growth and can contribute to shaping the future of the bank and the banking sector. These efforts also support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the bank’s broader role in contributing to a stronger, more resilient, and sustainable Jordanian economy.
