(Amman, Jordan – August xx, 2023) — In preparation for the upcoming academic year 2023/2024, Bank of Jordan has partnered with Qawafel Al Khair for Relief and Development to launch its My Bag 8/Haqibati 8 initiative, which is carried out under the slogan # احملها_عني. This initiative aims to extend the bank’s developmental and humanitarian role by fostering solidarity with different segments of society, particularly those in less fortunate areas. It prioritizes caring for students and easing the burden on their parents during these challenging economic circumstances.
As part of its support, Bank of Jordan, along with the participation of its employees, provided 300 school bags to students in public schools in the Southern Jordan Valley and the Irbid Camp. These bags were equipped with all the necessary study materials, including stationery.
The bank's contribution to the My Bag 8/Haqibati 8 initiative highlights its strong commitment to promoting an inclusive education. The bank firmly believes that education is a fundamental human right and recognizes its crucial role in nurturing an educated generation that can actively participate in the development of society. Therefore, the bank considers providing equal educational opportunities for all students, regardless of their circumstances, a shared responsibility. And it aligns with the government's Economic Modernisation Vision in the education sector and serves as an exemplary model for effective partnerships aimed at addressing various societal challenges.
Qawafel Al Khair for Relief and Development has consistently carried out My Bag 8/Haqibati 8 for eight years in a row. This seasonal initiative aims to make a difference in the lives of underprivileged and orphaned families by providing them with essential school bags. These bags will help to ease their enrollment process at the beginning of the school year.
